News BlogPep Rally Kicks Off "Extreme Makeover: Home Edition" BuildJune 23 2009 More than 500 volunteers and donors rallied at Grace Church on Friday, June 19 to show their support for the upcoming ABC “Extreme Makeover: Home Edition” build in Erie. John Maleno, president of Maleno Devleopment, and Conrad Rickets, executive producer of “Extreme Makeover: Home Edition, ” were both in attendance to help kick off the build.Those volunteers at the rally ranged from skilled laborers such as plumbers, electricians and drywallers to community members such as bankers, dentists and school officials -- all of whom will be lending a helping hand during the build . Maleno said the outpouring of support he has received from the community since the build was announced overwhelms him. “The message is that the community wants to give back, the community wants to be involved,” Maleno said. Is there any way to help some of the other families who didn't get picked that were finalists? I am sure they must be feeling a little lost right now. Do we know who they are? I feel we should help them also.
